Bazaar.in Seller Code of Conduct

Mandatory standards for Seller integrity, products, fulfilment, data and marketplace conduct

1. Scope and Seller Status

1.1Bazaar.in provides the Platform, including marketplace technology, administration, support, verification and related services. Bazaar.in is not treated as the product seller unless expressly identified as seller of record for a transaction.

1.2References to Bazaar.in, the Platform, we, us or our mean Bazaar.in.

1.3Every Seller is an independent contractor and seller of record unless expressly agreed otherwise. The Seller is responsible for products, listings, invoices, taxes, warranties, employees and regulatory compliance.

3. Listing and Pricing Integrity

3.1Listings must accurately state identity, condition, specifications, quantity, price, MRP, origin, manufacturer/importer, warranty, expiry and required warnings. Hidden keywords, duplicate catalogue abuse, deceptive discounts and false scarcity are prohibited.

3.2Sellers must maintain accurate stock and may not substitute products or move transactions off-platform.

4. Orders, Packaging and Delivery

4.1Sellers must accept valid orders, dispatch within the promise, use compliant packaging and labels, provide genuine tracking and preserve handover evidence. Fake dispatch, tracking manipulation and avoidable cancellation are serious breaches.

4.2Local-pickup Sellers must verify order and authorization before release and preserve collection records.

5. Returns, Refunds and VMS Cooperation

5.1The Video Management System (VMS) is Bazaar.in's controlled system for capturing, uploading, timestamping, storing, integrity-checking, retrieving and reviewing claim videos and related evidence. VMS may associate video evidence with order, catalogue, payment, delivery, pickup, product, packaging, shipping-label, serial/SKU, seller, account and fraud-risk information.

5.2Except where applicable law requires another remedy, returns will be entertained only when a product is received damaged or an incorrect product is delivered. An incorrect product means the product, model, variant, size, colour, quantity or SKU does not match the confirmed order. Change-of-mind, preference, fit, compatibility, accidental post-delivery damage and no-longer-needed claims are not eligible.

5.3No return is approved until VMS records a decision. VMS must record the evidence considered, outcome, reason, responsible reviewer and timestamp. Bazaar.in may request reasonable evidence, arrange pickup or inspection, and use manual review. The absence of one evidence type, including an unboxing video, will not by itself defeat a remedy required by law.

5.4The Buyer and Seller will receive the decision and a reason for rejection. Either may request grievance review within the stated period. Fraudulent, altered, swapped, unrelated or serial-mismatched returns may be rejected and may lead to account restriction, recovery and lawful reporting.

5.5Sellers must provide requested invoices, serial records, product and packaging information, cooperate with pickup/inspection and honour a final VMS-approved replacement or refund. Sellers may appeal with evidence but may not obstruct an approved remedy.

6. Buyer Service and Data

6.1Sellers must communicate professionally and use Buyer data only for fulfilment, delivery, support, VMS and legal obligations. Unrelated marketing, sale, profiling, retention, harassment and unauthorized disclosure are prohibited.

6.2Sellers must never seek Buyer passwords, payment PINs or OTPs and must report suspected data compromise immediately.

7. Reviews, Competition and Anti-Circumvention

7.1Fake reviews, review purchases, incentives conditioned on positive ratings, review suppression, competitor sabotage, self-orders, collusion and off-platform solicitation are prohibited.

7.2Sellers must not manipulate search, payments, promotions, claims, fees or performance metrics.

8. Performance, Audit and Investigation

8.1Bazaar.in may measure cancellation, dispatch, tracking, delivery, verified damage/incorrect-product claims, complaints, product quality and policy breaches using disclosed measurement windows.

8.2Sellers must cooperate with document requests, test purchases, sourcing checks, audits and investigations. Requests must be proportionate and confidential information protected.

9. Corrective Action and Appeal

9.1Measures may include warning, remediation plan, listing restriction, reserve, payout hold, suspension and termination. Counterfeit, unsafe goods, fraud, data misuse or serious illegality may justify immediate action.

9.2Material action should state the reason, scope, evidence category and appeal route where legally possible. Emergency action must be reviewed promptly.

10. Indemnity, Insurance and Survival

10.1Sellers indemnify the protected Bazaar.in entities for product, injury, recall, tax, IP, privacy, fraud and regulatory claims caused by Seller conduct, subject to fair defence procedures.

10.2Bazaar.in may require proportionate product, public liability, transit or cyber insurance. Pending orders, refunds, chargebacks, reserves, taxes, data duties, indemnities and audits survive termination.
