Bazaar.in Seller KYC, Verification and Onboarding Policy
Identity, business, bank, tax, category and continuing Seller verification
1. Purpose, Roles and Consent
1.1Bazaar.in provides the Platform, including marketplace technology, administration, support, verification and related services. Bazaar.in is not treated as the product seller unless expressly identified as seller of record for a transaction.
1.2References to Bazaar.in, the Platform, we, us or our mean Bazaar.in.
1.3Seller onboarding is conditional on successful risk-based verification. Submission authorizes lawful verification with banks, tax systems, registries, service providers and government sources, subject to the Privacy Policy.
2. Eligible Seller Types
2.1Individuals, proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs, companies and other lawful entities may apply if the category and transaction are legally permitted.
2.2The applicant must identify legal name, constitution, principal place of business, authorized signatory and beneficial owners or controllers as required.
3. Mandatory Information and Documents
3.1Required evidence may include PAN, GSTIN where applicable, incorporation or registration record, constitutional document, address proof, bank proof, licences, tax details, authorized-signatory authority and beneficial-owner identity.
3.2Document scope must be proportionate to entity type and category. Masked or alternative identity evidence should be accepted where legally adequate. Aadhaar may be collected only where necessary and legally permitted.
4. Bank, Tax and Category Verification
4.1The payout account must be verified and ordinarily match the Seller or authorized business. Bazaar.in may use penny-drop or provider checks. Payout cannot begin until verification succeeds.
4.2GST, Legal Metrology and category licences must be verified where applicable. Food, cosmetics, health, electronics, imported goods and other regulated categories may require additional approval.
5. Verification Process and Decision
5.1Verification may combine automated validation, manual review, risk screening, document checks and clarification requests. Decisions must record status, reason category and reviewer where manual review occurs.
5.2Bazaar.in may approve, conditionally approve, reject or request more information. Rejection or restriction should provide a reason and review route unless disclosure would prejudice fraud prevention or violate law.
6. Risk, Sanctions and Fraud Controls
6.1Bazaar.in may screen identity anomalies, forged documents, related accounts, unusual bank or tax data, sanctions or prohibited-party indicators, abnormal orders and other lawful risk signals.
6.2False, altered or stolen documents, impersonation, shell-account use and evasion may lead to rejection, hold, suspension, termination, recovery and lawful reporting.
7. Re-verification and Changes
7.1Sellers must report changes to ownership, control, legal name, address, bank, tax, licence or authorized representative before or promptly after effectiveness.
7.2Periodic or event-driven re-verification may occur after expiry, material change, unusual activity, legal request or risk escalation. Restrictions must be proportionate to unresolved risk.
8. Data Security, Retention and Audit
8.1KYC data must be access-controlled, encrypted as appropriate, logged and retained only for operational, tax, fraud and legal periods. Sensitive identifiers should be masked where feasible.
8.2Sellers may request correction and may use the grievance process. Bazaar.in may audit continuing eligibility and require updated evidence.
9. Suspension, Termination and Liability
9.1Failure to complete verification may prevent listing or payout. Confirmed fraud, illegality or material misrepresentation may result in termination.
9.2The Seller remains responsible for losses caused by false information. Bazaar.in remains responsible for its own unlawful processing or negligent verification conduct to the extent required by law.
